Farmer McPeeper's and His Missing Milk Cows

We read this funny story about farmer and his mischievous milk cows who steal his glasses and go about the town going to baseball games, fishing, swimming and lots of other silly things.

Calling all Framers!

Well, lookie here!  There is Farmer McPepper's and his milk cows!

Jack was so proud of himself being able to use scissors!  Way to go, Jack!

Some of you may be wondering, why I have a picture of a walrus???  Well, let me just tell you why, during snack someone had a great idea of being a walrus, so of course once one kid decided to be a walrus everyone else did too, except some kids didn't know what a walrus was so I looked up a picture really quick for them.  Silly kids!

We had lots of fun today reading about Framer McPeepers milk cows and making all of our fun crafts.  Can't wait for next week.  =)

Dino, dino, dinosaurs!

Everyone loved our story about the little boy who traveled back in time and was chased by a bunch of dinosaurs.

We had lots of fun making 3 dinosaurs, a mommy, a baby and one still in it's egg waiting to hatch.  {Hopefully your egg has dried and your little one has been able to dig their dino out.}

The kids had fun taking turns hiding the dino egg for eachother.

Little Brynlee even joined in.  What a cutie pie!!  Sorry I had to add this one in, what can I say, she's my baby girl.  =)

We got nice and dirty making our dinosaur eggs.  Here is the recipe for the sand eggs that we made.  Just a side note, I was thinking about using this for a FHE lesson, instead of putting a dinosaur in the middle put in a small jewel {I found some at the dollar store} and talk about how the world likes us to see the gospel as something worthless and ugly but if we dig into the gospel we will find its true value, the jewel.  My kids are going to love this.

I have no idea what to call this recipe so.....

SANDY FINGERS
I don't know I guess you get sandy fingers when you make this!

1 1/4 C dirt
1 1/4 C flour
3/4 C. salt
1/2 C sand
water
small dinosaurs

Mix everything except water and dino's.  Slowly add water until you get a clay like mixture then mold around dinosaurs.    Let dry for several days.

I Wish That I Had Duck Feet

By: Dr. Suess

We had lots of fun today reading all about duck feet, elephant noses, deer horns and lots lots more.  Which one would you want and why or would you  like to have them all and be called a Which-What-Who???

We had lots to do to look like a Which-What-Who.  We made whale spouts to keep us cool and an elephant nose to reach things up high, don't think you can hid your cookies on the top shelf anymore.  A tiger tale to play jump rope, deer horns to carry all of our things and last but not least duck feet to splash in the puddles!  We read about all these things in Dr. Suess's, I Wish that I had Duck Feet.

Here are a few more pictures from my Wednesday and Friday art classes.

I asked the kids to do their best impression of a tiger and they were mighty good growlers!

Jacks impression of a tiger.  Grrrr!

Holland, she had a pretty good growl.

I love her tiger face and claws!

I think Abby was scared of everyone's load growls and scary faces.

Jack decided he wanted to be a puppy instead.  He is such a QT pie.

I had so much fun with your kids.  I can't wait for our next class.

Monsters!  Monsters!  Monsters!

We had a lot of fun today creating monster eyes, hats and grass monsters.

Grass head monsters
To take care of your grass head monster fill plastic cup with water and keep filled, grass should grow in a few weeks.  Get your scissors ready, they may need a haircut.
Have fun with them.

Snack time

In case you can't tell, they're monster eyes.  haha

Sorry, I don't have a lot of pictures this time.  Some of these crafts took a little more one on one time.

Just a quick note.
I would love to say thank you to all of you.  I had so much fun with all of your adorable kiddos. I hope they had as much fun as I did.

Let's talk about FOSSILS!!

We started out the day with learning about fossils and then making our own fossils out of salt dough and then used toy dinosaurs to imprint their bodies on the dough.  We also made a "fossil" imprint of our hands.

Then we headed outside for a little outdoor excitement and had a dinosaur egg relay race.

 Grrrrr!
On your marks, get set, GO!

What did dinosaur eggs look like?  We used our imagination and painted our very own dinosaur eggs.

We took a short break to come check out all the caterpillars on some vines in my backyard.  We will have butterflies soon!

Snack Time
yum!

We ate dinosaur sandwiches, dinosaur bones and dino eggs.

I hope your kids had as much fun as I did.  Remember we will be having art class on Thursday @ 10.
See you then!!

Tra-la-la-la!
MUSIC can make you feel all sorts of different things.  It can make you want to WIGGLE and GROOVE, it can make you want to leap and twirl or just kick back and relax.  We experimented with music and dancing to different songs.  We  also played "name that tune" which the kids really loved!

We had fun making our very own instruments, a rain stick, tambourine and a guitar.  I should have sent home some asprin with this art class.  Heehee.

 Silly faces!

Raise your hand if you're having fun!

We read the book "The Little Band" one of my favorites.  They loved to read about the little band of children who brought joy to a small town through their music.

My Little Band

We even made music during our snack time

Banana slices and pretzels shaped like music notes.

I truly enjoy having your kids in my art class, they are a lot of fun!  Thank you for the opportunity!
